Ellen McAteer (Elf) is a writer and performer of twisted poems and wicked songs. She has had writing published in, among others, Aesthetica , West Coast Magazine, and The Illustrated Ape. Her play, Portrait , was performed to great acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe and went on to be recorded for local radio. Blue Valentine won the BBC Oxford Download phonein competition, 15th Dec 2007.

Ellen is a member of the core group of performers at Hammer & Tongue , an Oxford-based spoken word collective. She performs regularly at open mikes such as Catweasel .

These songs were originally put together in a recording in November 2006 at Jaberwok Studios, then inhabiting a condemned mansion on Cumnor Hill in Oxford. Production - Rory Walker; Guitar - Toby Lee ; Bass - Jack Ceadel; Cello - Billy Rigg. Rory Walker, now working as RaWmuzic , went on to remix the top three songs in this list in January 2008.

Ellen is always looking for musicians and sound artists to collaborate with.
