About Me

Autocue are a Comedy Ska/Hardcore/Pop-Punk/Metal/Rock hybrid from Derby. The original members were/are students of Derby Uni of which were on similar courses and decided to start a band together. Due to the wide range of music tastes that we have, we cross over into many genres of music. The name came from an idea of a good friend as Dave can't remember lyrics for shit! We are a very comedic band and have recently reformed on a permanent full time basis.
Band members have played in a wide array of different styles of bands including Prog, Post Hardcore, Ska Punk and Metal.
We have played many of gigs in our home town of Derby and many towns and cities across the Midlands. They have supported bands such as Grown at Home, The JB Conspiracy, Random Hand, Fandangle, Mr. Shiraz, Robb Blake (ex-Whimore), The Display Team (formally Mumrah) and most recently [spunge]!
The band have finally finished the completion of their first mini album entitled "Line Please..." which is available from band members, gigs and now online HERE!!!
“With a bit of brass and a lot of rock, this band can work a crowd!” – Alex Copeland; Lead Vocalist of [spunge]
"Their sound is an upbeat mixture of Melodic Alt-Rock and Ska-Punk that bursts with energy and ideas. There’s a heavy American influence that runs through their music yet they make it all very much their own by virtue of some very well written material with clever lyrics, sharp guitar work and catchy choruses." – Surface Unsigned
"There is some solid music here. Divvying-up some pop punk, ska brass, the odd metal riff and, in the case of ‘The 5:50 at Naked Derby’, some faux reggae grooves Autocue is very much a musical smelting pot." – Punktastic
