These are a few of the photographs that I have taken over the course of my adventures. It is amazing how beautiful something can be if you catch it just right. My favorite photo is the photo that I see that no one else sees, the photo of that thing that really does not seem too spectacular. Enjoy!

Passage from "Iris" by Hermann Hesse,
"All children feel [wonder of the natural world], although they do not feel it with the same intensity and sensivity. And with many of them all of this is already gone, as if it had never existed, even before they begin to learn how to read the alphabet. For others, the mystery of childhood remains close to them for a long time, and they take a remnant and echo of it with them into the days of their white hair and weariness. All children, as long as they still live in the mystery, are continuously occupied in their souls with the only thing that is important, which is themselves and their enigmatic relationship to the world around them. Seekers and wise people return to these preoccupations as they mature. Most people, however, forget and leave forever this inner world of the truly significant very early in their lives. Like lost souls they wander about for their entire lives in the multicolored maze or worries, wishes, and goals, none of which dwells in their innermost being and none of which leads them to their innermost core and home."

ALRIGHT I'M UPDATING THIS THING!!The last 6+ months have been very interesting. After finally fininshing the thesis and getting a job, I questioned what I was doing and could I do it for ever. Everything that I thought I wanted when I was in grad school I realized was just a big joke. Publishing...who cares. The degree...big deal. Getting a "good" job...woopdedo. Things have settled down quite a bit since then. I decided to give it a shot and while it still sucks quite a bit of the time, as I get more experience and people figure out what I can do, it gets better.Of course, I'd still rather be a photographer. ANd I am slowly working on it. Two classes, a bunch of money, a couple of events and I can actually say that I am a professional. Well, sort of. I am helping a friend that shoots events at Mohegan Sun. I got to shoot a Red Sox charity event back in November and will be helping on more coming up soon.
People usually have no idea what I mean when I tell them what I study...hydrogeology. Then I just say groundwater (is it groundwater, ground-water, or ground water?...ah who gives a sh*t). I don't really do geology in the traditional sense...thank god. I actually find rocks kind of boring (FTGS!).
I moved to Rhode Island to go to school 2+ years ago and am planning on staying. It sure the hell beats Williamsburg and is pretty close to being better than Northampton. Back home I was 20 minutes from only Noho and here I am 20 min from Providence, the beach, Newport, Arcadia, school, and only an hour from Boston. The only thing that lacks is the biking. But I love Providence.
As for me, if you know me than you know that I could be considered a little "off". I have a tendency to say whatever I feel like and pretty much act the same way. I am one of those type of people that don't really regret anything and try to fill my life with as many enjoyable things as possible. Hmmm...that being said I wonder why I never got into drugs. I guess that the experiences themelves act as the high to me. Maybe its because I never did it as kid but I love to travel and see as much as possible. I have now been to 5 countries (this country does not count).
I have many different types of friends that I have met over the years and many more acquaintances. I still keep in touch with a few of the original from way back. The friends that I have now mean a lot to me and are one reason for wanting to stay in Rhode Island. Saying goodbye to people is not something that I like to do.
For my friends from highschool, I have changed quite a bit. Not that most of us haven't. I have gone from being voted "Best Blusher" to being able to lead some of the raunchiest conversations you can imagine.
I guess that about sums me up, complicated and simple at the same time.
