About Me

I began to take an interest in music from an early age. The radio was always tuned to the light service ( I know !) and we were lucky to have a Dad who bought a big radiogram.
My older Sisters used to play Billy Fury records and I think we had 'Tell Laura I love Her' as a single. I also liked the Shadows but mostly the novelty records on Junior Choice.
My first interest in the guitar came when I heard the incredible opening of The Beatles: I Feel Fine - Baaaaayooooongwooooow etc. I remember it clearly and thought "That's what and electric guitar should sound like !" - Funnilly enough, in spite of that, The Beatles have never really been much of a favourite of mine.
Fast forward a few years and I watched Marc Bolan & T. Rex on top Of The Pops doing 'Get It On' and that was the big one. I had to have a guitar. Naturally I ended up with a bass.
My other interest is Photography. There is a web site thats host my pictures, if you want to, take a gander at

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Currently I am not with a regular band.
I am delighted to be able to call on the help from time to time of the excellent Mr Mike Day (the most fertile man on the planet) On Bass. and, Kevin Fyford who is the best drummer I ever played with. We were formerly 3/4 of the DOWNTOWN FLYERS
The Flyers are playing on the songs attached to this site.

I sometimes use a backng track that I have recorded myself. Y'know the hardest part about that is the band doesn't follow you anymore ! You have to keep up with them. Terrible job.

My new album !!!!!!!!

Milwaukee Dave - As Far As It Goes

I was feeling left out with everyone else at the open mic club having a cd, so not to be left out I have made a compilation from various bands and demos. Heres a note or two about the Bands and the songs.

I've put the track info on the blog part of this page, take a read if you have the time....If you would like a copy - free - just ask !
Influences: Mostly bitter beer.......
But in no particular order....

Marc Bolan
Ten Years After
Ian Hunter
Johnny Winter
My mate Stan
Webb Wilder.
Beach Boys
Pink Floyd
Stevie Ray Vaughan

Oh god this could be a long list. Will have another shot later.
Sounds Like: On a good day I try to sound like me. I'm not a natural songwriter but from time to time I have managed to put the skids under a well known song and make it my own.
Type of Label: Major
