Zenya, an Australian soulful, seasoned singer who started singing and entertaining as a talented adolescent from schools to churches, fun parks and local events in her home town of Newcastle (Sydney) Australia. At the age of nine she began writing poetry and learning guitar, then later on learning to combine the two into singer song writing. At the age of 12 she began vocal arranging and recording her heart felt songs. Zenya knew this was her calling.
In her teen years, Zenya would weekly sing a spot with a band at a local Pub called the “Green Roof†in her home town capturing the audience with her powerfully mature soul voice and sassy stage presence, later moving on to singing with the ever popular Newcastle based trio “GenR8†that was, and still are very well known for their soulful sound.
In 2004 Zenya was invited to tour with a 10 piece international band throughout Asia for a year. In between rehearsals and performances, Zenya took every opportunity she could to record with her Indonesian based producer from Ohio, “Michael Falcone“ giving her the experience and knowledge to further her recording career.
Later to return back home to Win the title of “Hottest Urban Artist†in 2006 of her home town Newcastle and take out the title of “Fameâ€. Zenya (accompanied by her two Hip Hop dancers) Performed her original RnB track “Boy†which gave her radio play on Sydney’s hottest Urban Radio station 96.1 “The Edge†interviewed by Sydney’s Urban Award Winning D.J Nino Brown.
Shortly after the Aussie artist moved to Sydney on her own to spread her wings and soon pick up support acts for renowned artists such as Slum Village, Phat Kat and The Killa Queens (to name a few). The singer songwriter with the help of renowned U.S. Hip Hop dance choreographer “Swoop†delivers an edgy and visual performance with a sassy flow.
Recently co-writing with New York based accredited Multi Platinum Grammy Award Winning producer “Supe†Zenya pours out her heart and story into her lyrics as she writes for her debut album.
Crafted by Mosley Group’s (Timberland) ever charismatic producer Charles “Pheenom†Wilson, the Aussie artists albums sound has a modern, fresh but hard hitting vibe. Whilst touring the United States, Zenya will be completing her debut album which will feature some of America’s top musicians who have worked with the names of Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake Christina Aguilera and Rhianna just to name a few. As a woman of pure faith and motivation, Zenya continues to develop and grow as an artist. Aspiring to be a multi-faced entertainer Zenya would like to soon grace the silver screen with her desire to act. This year she has co-written the vocal arrangements and recorded with the ever talented movie composer “Gerard John†for a film which is to be released later this year.
