About Me

Jake LaMotta alledgedly said, "I could have been somebody, I could have been a contender"!
As for me, I coulda, shoulda, woulda, but somehow it seems to have transpired that I haven't, didn't and never really looked likely to! So in an effort to re-dress some of the balance and do something more memorable than getting up to go to work, I've decided to ride a bike across the US coast to coast. Should at the very least add a bit of sparkle to my after dinner repartee.

Men in Tights

Slept like I was hibernating, so it was just past 9 before I poked my head out of the Badger Hole. As I was miles from anything remotely resembling a breakfast diner, I had to stoke up my stove and ma...

let's not say goodbye, lets just say I'll never see you again

So after arriving at Larned a fraction after two and watching the rain come down for the rest of the day, I watched the weather forecast for the 20th with some angst. It appeared to remain unsettled b...

Kentucky Fried

So rest day over back to work. Like our last rest day, the change to a more normal environment isn't always easy to want to leave behind and I lingered around the motel till about 10.30. Weather had c...

God Bless America

So after 23 hours of traveling, I finally made it to Colonial Williamsburg. As it is, its a beautiful little town steeped in history which almost made the journey more bearable. As it was though, BA a...
