In 2001, a fun-loving black Irish bartender used his charming Irish Ninja skills to acquire free shots of Potcheen and pints of Guinness in exchange for yarns and jokes. He was discovered by one Jon Bouche’ after winning an on-air contest calling into the Out to Lunch show with Miles and Thrill as Brett the Irish Com’Mc. He was picked to be the first and only male member of the Bod Squad for Live 105.7. During that time, adventures ensued from opening for Gallagher in front of 1100 people and placing three times in the semi-finals and once in the finals of the Funniest Person in Baltimore competition.
A few years later, he realized there was lucrative potential in performing onstage. This man quit his job and started performing at comedy clubs, art spaces and (of course) Irish pubs around Maryland, DC and Virginia.
In his short, yet burgeoning comedy career, Brett has taken his act to Baltimore’s 98 Rock, where he makes a great on-air guest who always brings the funny with him. Brett’s comedic talents have enabled him to not only open for such diverse acts as Gallagher and Justin Schlegel, but also to organize his own local comedy shows, promoting and giving assistance to young local comics.
In addition to his comedy skills, Brett is also a skilled bagpipe player. He is also known as the Supreme Fat Irish Ninja, using his skills to look dead sexy in a kilt, outdrink anyone in a bar and also to make them puke.
For a night of fun, laughter, and even drinking, come and see Brett the Irish Com’Mc. You and your friends will talk about him for years to come and that’s before you do shots with him. You can’t miss him. He’s the one sitting at the corner of the bar looking like an Irish Buddha … that would be at the Blarneystone Pub, 704 South Broadway in Baltimore’s historic Fells Point (Every time he mentions this establishment, he gets a free bar tab).
