In August 2005,
Marcelino lost everything he owned and walked away with his life due to Hurricane Katrina. After fleeing from New Orleans to Jackson, MS and then back to Louisiana again, he and 21 of his family members sought refuge in a single home right outside
of the New Orleans area.I lost all of my earthly possessions, but I gained more in my faith, love, and trust for God. My treasures were never on earth, theyre always in Heaven, so all the water and wind couldn t destroy that. It just allowed me to see all the more, just how powerful God really is. Marcelino stated in an interview shortly after historical storm occured.Once the storm passed, Marcelino returned to the devistated area and spent 2 days helping to rescue both people and abandoned pets from their homes in the flood waters. Most of the footage in the music video Here I Am (Hurrican Katrina Tribute) was actually taped by Marcelino himself during this time. Joe also spent 3 to 4 days helping to give supplies and aid to those who were in greater need. In the mist of all the aftermath, God revealed to Marcelino, that it was time for him to make yet another life changing decision- whether or not he would live or move out of New Orleans.____________________________________________________

Marcelino was led by the Spirit of God to Los Angeles. Without a job or place to stay,the now homeless, yet determined artist/producer took a 3 day journey across the United States to the West Coast. After driving for many hours, with little money, tired, and sleeping in the desert, Marcelino finally arrived at his destination.
Upon arriving, the Lords Angel immediately opened the doors of opportunity by providing him with a job, medical treatment, and a temporary place to stay.

_________________In March 2006Marcelino, recorded songs "Lift Yah Hands" and "Virtuous Woman", then released The Restitution of Righteousness. Although this is his first solo album, the entire project was dedicated to God and to the 18 family members and friends that passed away within the year following Katrina. "This album was designed to reach people of all ages" Marcelino explained. "Down South Latin Hip-Hop is definetly a new style Gospel Hip-Hop, it's a blessing to know that God is using me to bring the Good News to the streets and those who thirst for revival" he added.YTB /Traverus TravelIn October 2006, Marcelino began a new journey with a company called YTB he was very successful. He worked the business for a year and half; and then was introduced to Traverus where he is currently a National Executive.
