About Me
To those I went to high school with, I was/am Naomi Miller: short, outspoken, athletic and probably tried a little too hard to fit in (well, what high school girl wanted to stand out, seriously?). After high school I went into radio DJing, promotions, and marketing.
I found out seven years later that my radio name (Naomi Knight) was the same as Ms. Nude North America's name (how many Naomi's are there, anyway?) Anyway, that was fun, but after like 10 years of running radio stations around the country - it was extremely boring and absolutely no job security.
So...after working in restaurants, managing various businesses, substitute teaching, and yes - even working at a gas station...I finally arrived at a place where I can get back into school - and I'm done! My degree is in Human Services Management; but I currently work for ProgressiveU.org and Junior State of America - both great organzations who work to spread political awareness to tomorrow's leaders.
I am not here to meet idiots, morons, or generally horny guys. If any of these statements describe you, then please clickety-click the little back button and find a girl more your type - someone who wants you drooling over her. If you scroll up a bit - you'll note "Status•Off the Market" - that should tell you I'm not looking.
Reading is a crucial skill, especially on this site. If you can't read then don't bother trying to type out a message to me.
Now, that said - if you're still here, I'll assume that means that you are none of the afore-mentioned people I try to avoid. Believe it or not, I can be a rather nice person.
Other Information
Stranded on a deserted island, what would I take? Laptop - duh. It's only a matter of time before the U.S. finds this alleged island and tries to turn it into a tourist attraction to gain taxes. Or, the U.S. come down and try to dig for oil; either way, when they do, I'll have internet.
I support our military 100%. If you're alive today, then you owe them your thanks - even if their boss is an asshole. And if you're not alive today, then you should probably get off the computer. Or at least spend your afterlife doing something other than reading my MySpace profile...
I am always learning something - and nothing gets me as excited as the chance to try something new. Don't get me wrong, I have my routines and I appreciate stability...But nothing beats learning, which is more than I can say for most of the world's population.
....Everyone seems to be afraid to try new things and do something they have never done before. I do not know why they are that way. Quite frankly I think life is far too short to waste all your precious time doing the same old things. Then again, it may be that it is too long to spend it repeating the same things over and over again (unless one desires to become a robot).
Likes and Dislikes
I love to write, and I love to read. I love to make my friends happy - and nothing puts a smile on my face more than finding some way to make someone else smile. Bugs, insects, and other creepy crawlies give me nightmares. I'm scared of the dark...But I love horror, thriller, and suspense movies.
Free time is something I haven't enough of - so I'll not waste it with the things that annoy, irritate, or otherwise piss me off. I prefer to surround myself with things that make me happy. If it's not making me happy - it's probably not worth the effort. I'm the type of girl who will burst out laughing out of the blue about something that happened yesterday. I only cry when I'm alone. Funerals make me nervous.
I am not gay - but I fully support their right to happiness and to marriage. If you don't believe in same-sex marriage - then don't marry a homosexual. If you're married to a heterosexual - then shut up and let them live their lives - stop trying to base the value of your own marriage on what other people are doing... Maybe if more people spent as much time focusing on their marriage rather than pissing and moaning about Mr. and Mr. Joe Merry down the road, there'd be less divorce going around.
There's a billion and one things that I want to do or try - and someday I will. I don't particularly like most people, but am here for nearly everyone. I love to bake, cook, grill - anything that allows me to create food that will be devoured in minutes.
I love to sing, but I hate being the center of attention. I dislike people who refuse to use their common sense. I have a really hard time feeling sympathy for people - but will go out of my way to help someone in need. The weight of the world is always on my shoulders, so I suppose there's no harm carrying a bit for you too. But please, leave your drama at the door... ;)
