- 006
Joseph Patrick Scott is a songwriter finding his sea legs again, after extensive touring as a member of almost too many bands to count (most notably Canada, That's Him! That's The Guy!, and Saturday Looks Good To Me). The songs are hopeful and introverted, but with the melodies and elaborate instrumentation one would expect from this member of Michigan's fruitful folk scene.
Recluse - 005
Recluse is a hard-charging band of New York City natives bringing rock to Manhattan in the tradition of Television and the Strokes. They play frequent gigs around the East Coast and have slaved to build a sturdy fan base in their hometown. Poised to break through the clutter and clatter of so many bands who put style before chops, they are all substance.
Dylan James Brock - 004
Dylan James Brock has been writing music and lyrics for about ten years now. His lyrics are as studied as his background would suggest: Mr. Brock has an MFA in Creative Writing and has worked with such award winning authors as Peter Carey and Salman Rushdie. His music comes from years and years of teaching himself when no one else would. Don't worry. It's better than that might make him sound.
That's Him! That's the Guy!
- 003 - 001
That's Him! That's the Guy! make indie folk songs that some people
like, and others not so much. They are comprised of Joseph Scott (of
Canada the 7 member band, not the 31 million-plus member country), and
David Martin (of no particular note). They are also a proud sponsor of
The 2010 Winter Olympics, and enjoy rescuing puppies from terrible,
terrible fates. They solemnly promise not to throw any heavy or sharp
objects at you.
FREER
- 002
A Detroit based rock quartet who left the garage to craft their sound in the dark shadows of Motown. Equal parts MC5 and Smokey Robinson, this funky foursome is creating music that is as soulful as it is punk, and as original as it is addictive.
The Hill Ensemble
The most etheral electronic music this side of the monolith. Nick Adams and company channel the spirit of an ape with a bone aloft, ready to strike down the nattering simians too foolish to use tools. Let them score your deep space visions and late night comedowns.
Emily Groves
Ms. Groves is an Austin, Texas based singer/songwriter, philosopher and Language Arts Special Force. She comes to us from Austin by way of Traverse City, MI, by way of Santa Monica, CA.

Sounds Like: Well, there's some electric guitars, acoustic guitars, basses, keyboards, drums, and voices, all being used in a more or less organized fashion.
