WARNING: ALL OF MY MUSIC IS COPYRIGHTED THROUGH THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS (THE LEGAL WAY) SO ANY OF YOU BEAT JACKERS TRY TO STEAL MY SHIT AND CLAIM IT IS YOURS, I HAVE PROOF OF COPYRIGHTS AND WILL SUE YOUR ASS, JUST TRY MEI'm a 1/2 Puerto Rican, 1/2 Black military brat (son of Marine parents) reppin' both The Bronx and New Orleans (Westbank). I am currently searching for a respectable manager to assist my career as a producer/A&R/label head. I am working with local artists and shopping my beats with major labels. My music influences range from hip-hop to Comtemporary Jazz. I know you are wondering why I named my production/publishing company Chico Clemente Bonilla Music. Well, the reason behind it because it was named after three of my favorite baseball players that played for the Pittsburgh Pirates: Jose "Chico" Lind (Shortstop 87-92), Roberto Clemente (Outfield 55-72 R.I.P.), and Bobby Bonilla (Outfield/Third Base 87-91). I know that was a little eccentric but hey the thug named companies are a tad worn out. Anyway, the gear that I am working with are the Ensoniq ASR-10 keyboard (used by producers like Timbaland, The Neptunes, and Kanye West), Cool Edit Pro 2.1, NuMark TT1600 turntables, and numerous sounds from zip/floppy disks/modules/etc. My music is melodic, moody, jazz influenced, grimy, and laid back. I would say more than 90% of my music is sample free (I need all of my publishing, no doubt). If I do sample, I would chop up the material and produce it differently than the original. I can play by ear so I usually listen to some older material to start me off to create a track. My big influence is and always will be jazz. I love the music from artists like Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, Charles Mingus, Bob James, and Miles Davis to modern contemporary artists like The Rippingtons, Ronny Jordan, and Lee Ritenour. I feel like hip-hop need to go back to its roots production wise. Jazz has definitely jump started hip-hop, just check out hip-hop in the late 80s to late 90s. The only producer that has influenced me the most is definitely DJ Premier. Dude has kept it hip-hop and never sold out to pop standards. If you like want you hear I have posted, leave some comments on my blog. I am a very cool person so I welcome any comments. For all the artists and fellow producers requesting to add me, if I comment on your music and you don't return the favor, I consider it disrespectful. There's no need to keep you as a friend. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to hit me
