I've always known that I was destined to be a singer", says 27 year old Sha'Wanda Smith. A native of Dayton, Ohio. Sha'Wanda was raised with a music background, which paved the way for her dreams to become a reality. Growing up a P.K. where her father pastored Mt. Olivet Church of God In Christ she began singing and had the opportunity to lead her first song with the adult choir at age 5. Little did everyone know that they were amongst such a goal driven and tenacios young lady. Sha'Wanda grew up listening to artists such as the Winans, Vicky Winans, Comissioned, Take 6 and DeLeon Richards. She has also had the opprtunity to work with other well known artists, such as singing background for Michael Bolton, and Byron Cage. She was the winner of the Wright Idol Contest for Wright State University and a participant of the I hear Music New Artist Showcase. Her debut solo project "Reflections of His Love" sends a message of just that, His Love. "God has allowed life's experiences to cause Sha'Wanda to birth many songs of His love and everlasting faithfulness". The Urban/Rock tune entitled "You Kept Me", shares just a portion of her personal testimony. "I have expereinced so much in this short time here on this earth, and many trials that have caused me to become broken only to see His hand genltly put me back together again. With facing the harsh reality of adoption, and being married at age 18, and a mother at 19, God has been the ONLY one in my corner to keep me. That is something NO ONE ELSE could ever do. Sometimes I am dismissed as one who would have significant experience in the area of trials and testimony because of my youth, but ONLY GOD can validate me, and HE has. Sha'Wanda Has a style that will minister to all ages, expect to hear more from this young lady... Sha'Wanda is the wife of William Smith Jr. for 9 years, mother of William III- 8, Kennedi- 6, Morgen-1 and Sir Miles 8 weeks.
