About Me

Hello, my name is Amanda Halliday, before i got married it was Amanda Bailey. I am Todich'ii'nii (Bitter Water Clan) born for the Naakaii' Dinee' (Mexican Clan) my maternal grandparents are of the Tachii'nii (Red running through the water Clan) and my paternal grandparents are of the Tl'iziani(Many Goats Clan). Well i'm originally from Black Mesa, AZ. but grew up in Kayenta. I have 2 wonderful parents, and a hard working brother and 4 silly sisters. We had a great childhood which consists of going to grandma's to herd sheep, cleaning house, wandering the back of grandma's house and keep her company. And i remember going to my grandpa's after school for cookies and candy. it was fun. While growing up i went to school at the Kayenta Primary School, Intermediate, and Middle School, the on to Monument Valley High School. After finishing with High School I went to school in Prescott, AZ at Yavapai College. After 2 years at yavapai i took a break from school and worked, it was then i met my Husband Bruce. You name the place i ran into him. lol. if it wasn't at work it was at school, if it wasn't at school it was at Church. We were friends for an entire year before we decided to go on our first date. then after 2 and a half weeks of dating we were engaged. Then 3 months later we were married on Feb. 11th ,2000. I'm so grateful for finding my husband and being a family. Continuing my story. lol. Our first home was in Prescott, Az, after being married for 6 months we found out we were expecting our first child, a little boy. so to make it an easier transition to motherhood we moved back to Kayenta, Az to be with my family. Mathias E.B. Halliday was born April 10th, 2001. It was an interesting day because it snowed. Matty only stayed with us a short time, until he left to be with our heavenly father. A month after Matty was born we decided to move back to prescott, az because thier really wasn't any jobs in kayenta. So after being in prescott for a year and a couple months we found out that we were expecting again just around the time we bought our first home in Cordes Lakes, AZ. then we were blessed with the arrival of our wonderful little girl Galadriel A. Halliday. She was born March 11th, 2003. She is a joy and a great little girl whose curiosity is abundant. She has Grandma and Grandpa Bailey wraped around her little finger. As for her uncle she enjoys spending time outside with him exploring the sand and little critters. He teaches her things to make parenting harder for us. lol. But it's great to see her mind work. As for my sisters and gali they love each other and it's hard to pry her from them. It's great to see how they all play together. Sometimes when i'm with my younger sisters and gali i often consider them sisters instead of aunties cause i took care of them at such a young age. so don't mind me if i say emmi leave your sister alone, or amy go and get your sister. or hey gali lets go look for your sisters....wait, i mean your auntie's. lol. So that is my family, my wonderful hubby Booie, my two wonderful children. Mathias and Galadriel. I love them very much. When Gali was 6mths old I went back to school to get my B.A in Health Administration. So hopefully i'll finish before the gali does. Eventually i want to go back to Kayenta and work for the Healthcare System. But for the time being i have my family, work, and school to look forward to. So all in all my life is great.

Well i like pretty much anything. i think i've moved on from what i use to listen to in high school and in college which use to be r&b and hip hop. these day's i like listening to what ever sounds good. i'm not picky. lol.

Movies:

well i like any movie that can make me laugh, but don't get me wrong i like anyother sad movie. well my favorite movies are: Lord of the Rings-the trilogy, Star Wars-all 6, The Godfather-1&2, Coupling-all 4 Seasons, Red Dwarf-The entire collection, All the disney movies except Pocahantas., Spongebob-any and everything, Garfield and friends-all seasons, Serenity, Dear Frankie, Phantom of the Opera, and whatever Gerard Butler, Ewan McGregor, and Billy Boyd are in. Got to love those scottish actors.

Television:

HGTV, DIY, DHC, DWC, TLC, Food Network, Family Guy, Futurama, Smallville, Lost, The OC, and all the kids shows on the disney channel, nick toons, and the noggin channel, especially anything Spongebob Squarepants lol

Books:

I've read all the books for LOTR. i have yet to read the hobbit. i try to stay away from the deep stuff. i did my time reading deep stuff. lol i blame my 11th grade english teacher and my AP english instructor. lol. good books but it fried my brain. lol. but i'm always up for a good book.

Heroes:

My hero's first and foremost is my parents, brother and sisters. They are always there for me and are apart of my life though we don't see each other as often as we like. And then there is my own little family as small as our family is there is alot of love. There is the wonderful love of my life Bruce, who makes sure his family has what we need.
And then our little angel, Mathias, who spent what short time he had with us and taught us the meaning of what being a forever family is. Two years later we were blessed with the arrival of our little girl, Galadriel (Gali, Monkeyshine, and Bun), she has brought so much joy to our lives and is always smiling to remind us of what we have, a family.
