The Revellz hard work paid off this September 2008 as the band were played at the MTV VMA Award ceremony,
Also The Revellz are the lead track on the album entitled DIG MUSIC Volume one which is currently released only in the U.S OF A.
We are in good company with Of Montreal, The Deadly sins , and Tokyo Police Club, and the Kosmos to name but a few. Colleen your a starbar and thats good.
The band are influenced by punk, ska, pop, rock, metal, acoustic and skiffle. We wont list a pile of bands , but good sounds are good sounds.
It was an absolute honour to have opened for 'Bad Manners' on the 14th December in Dublin to celebrate Busters Birthday. To say Buster is an absolute legend is an understatement , sounded amazing and the after show pints were great craic! Buster we salute you!
Formed in 2004 from the ashes of other now defuct Dublin acts as a project by guitarist and singer Trevor McDonagh. Prior to the Revellz, Trevor raised an outfit for a Benefit gig with Drummer Tony Swan called Dasderly and Muttley. The Benefit gig was to save the Seafront at Dun Laoghaire,Co.Dublin from unscrupulous property developers. The Seafront is still there to this day so obviously Dasderly and Mutley made some impact.
Dasderly and Mutley later became rumbleweed , and finaly morphed into The Revellz when Joined by Cory on Bass, the puzzle was complete or was it? Since then the revolving door policy allows members to join and keep the Revellz fresh like Glade or Mr Sheen. Once a Revelle always a Revelle, Aido Garry, Derek Price, Paul Chaney, the infamous Marcin, and last but not least the wonderful talents of Le Sebastian, and introducing the amazing Paul aka Joey the lips.
Since 2004 the band have been at the cutting edge of the Dublin rock scene with their synonymous deput long player 'The Magnificent 7' EP released in early 2006. A single 'Girl Like You' was lifted from the mini player to much critical aclaim. The EP was mixed by legendary producer and Grammy nominated 'Pat Donne', now known as The Grammy Dunne.
Support to this release was backed by various Dublin Gigs and a debut at the Nemo Music Showcase in Boston,MA in September of the same year.
2007 saw the Revellz return to the studio to record a follow up to their debut with a mimi EP titled 'Why California?',backed with 2 tracks 'Mr.Smith' and 'The Dance'.Once again the band sought the mixing skills of Pat Donne but this time for the final mix only. This was released in 2008 and again received critical acclaim. Touring of the single in Dublin took place in early 2008 in various Dublin Venue. The Revellz are currently in rehearsals for upcoming gigs and new recordings for the New Year.
