B way was born twenty-five years ago and raised in Albany, NY. His parents were married for about a year before they split up. And his father, who was a hard working street smart high school drop out, spent a lot of time grooming him into the man you see today, despite not having custody of him. Even though his mother contributed a lot to raise a young man who spent a lot of time getting into mischief, she still managed pointing him in the right direction. "My mother showed me a lot," B way says. "She was a very strong controlling woman, who was determined to raise a son with morals and principles." Like many kids in the inner city his age, B way is steadfast in his search for a better way of living.
Early on, his musical talent was hidden. He spent many hours sitting in his room writing about his life experiences, his environment, and the life he was trying to live. These works were ignored for years and put on the back burner in hopes of making it with school and sports. Not long after his high school graduation, he used music to get him way from his everyday hardships and struggles. But tragically in 2001, his freshman year in college, his sister Mary Bell was murdered at age 28. This made him more determined on reaching his goal of being successful. "When my sister was killed it was a complete shock and I felt like a piece of me was buried with her." B way says, "I think that had to be the turning point in my life, her passing showed me tomorrow aint promised, the only thing promised is death." Soon after her burial, he began to have more of a carefree attitude. He began running the streets more, and getting mixed in with the wrong crowd. While in college, b way realized he couldnt make any real money, so he started running scams and selling drugs in hopes of reaching his goal. As people started getting into trouble with the law around him, he realized that living that life it was only a matter of time before he would wind up with the same fate. Shortly after, he dropped out of college to pursue his goals of making it musically. It was hard finally making that decision for me not to finish school cuz my parents always told me to get my education b way says but sometimes you have to do what you have to regardless to who you let down as long as your happy with your decision. He continues when its all said and done youre the only one that has to be satisfied with what you see when you look in the mirror, nobody else
Nowadays B way is focused on becoming the total package. A song writer, performer, recording artist, and music mogul living by the old adage--"every journey begins with a step." So this is his first step in a journey to become everything he expects from himself.
