Right after the foundation of Nanny Goat in 1997 the five band members toured around local pubs, bars and clubs in the area of Trier, Saarburg and even across the borders in Luxemburg and Belgium to give the audience what they deserve: a good smack of sophisticated, melodic but nevertheless body-shaking rock sounds.Just a few years later in 2001 Nanny Goat got the chance to record and present their debut album “Too Many love songs” which was recorded under the skillfull guidance of Robert Whitley (former Lewd Prank member) in Germany. Prepared to rock the goats then managed to win the “Rockförderpreis” a local music award and therefore gained more and more reputation in the local music scene. Several gigs followed, e.g as support for Die Happy, Reamon, The Shanes and other Rockbusters, as well as gigs on festivals. In 2002 the German label Roadmovie Productions (Marburg) got an eye on the Nanny Goats and signed and supported the production of the second album “Superficial depths”. Backed up with Robert Whitley behind the mixing desks Nanny Goat quickly headed towards Liverpool and recorded 8 songs in different studios. “Superficial Depths” was released in March 2003 on Roadmovie Productions. After a break caused by diploma – and bachelor studies of the band members “Nanny Goat” was ready to rock their fan..s hearts on live-gigs again. Equipped with the new man on the guitar – Dominik Lermen – “Nanny Goat” packed their bags and went on a tour around Germany together with their “label colleauges” Ashes of Pompeii to rock clubs and bars in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Marburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and back home in Trier. Due to a temporal delay of the drummer –Gregor Ernst – Nanny Goat extended their musical horizons “unplugged” and won the “Battle of the Bands” in Trier. Now back with Gregor at the drums Nanny Goat have been ambitiously and eagerly working out new songs that will be the groundstone for their third album that will be released in November 2008.
