Scattered Remains is a Texas death metal band formed in the year 2004 by Manuel Rocha (guitars) and Rene Martinez (drums). After a few short months, the band had established themselves as one of the most brutal bands in Austin. In late 2005 internal problems brought about the departure of the original vocalist and bass player, and welcomed current vocalist, Ryan Sylvie. Scattered pushed on with this line-up for over a year (minus a bass player), touring all over Texas, writing relentlessly brutal death metal, and signing a recording contract with Ossuary Industries Records (though an album was never released). In 2007 the line-up was finally completed with the addition of bassist Eric Houser from Arkansas. The band continues to crush audiences across the state of Texas with their uncompromising, guttural, and blasphemous brand of death, and proving themselves a worthy addition to the death metal community. Scattered Remains are currently seeking a label to release their debut album, “The Sacrament of Unholy Communion†featuring cover art by Jon Zig.
