20 years is a long time. Its an eternity when you've been chewed up and spit out by the music industry machine. Eventually, you get tired of all the bull crap, and just want to make music.
This sentiment birthed Tuesday Cried. Front man/guitarist/songwriter Gary LeMaster has been there/done that when it comes to the "industry". In early March of 2006 he found himself sitting front and center of a major music awards show in Nashville, TN, a guest of one of the town's many labels. Watching the show unfold, he found himself more and more repulsed by all of it. Where was the music? Where was the desire to say something that made a difference instead of a dollar?
On the trip home, he called his wife, Crista. After a heartfelt conversation the decision was made - it was time to start another band. This time it wouldn't be about getting a deal, or selling records. This time it would be about making the music that had always been inside. Saying what needed to be said.
A few days later, the couple approached Randy William Nelson, Crista's nephew and an amazing bass player. "So, we've got this idea...." Amazingly enough, Randy had the same vision.
That left only the last piece of the puzzle - a drummer. Jason Ault, a long time friend of Nelson was available, and after a few rough practice sessions, things started to click, and Tuesday Cried was born.
....or so we thought. In June of 2008 Tuesday Cried began to seek a lead guitarist to create a more full and live sound. Through another friend of Nelson, Tuesday Cried found guitarist Jason Otero. Since July 2008 Otero has taken Tuesday Cried to a whole new sound.
