Born in Milan in 1994, "ALTI & BASSI" were invited by prestigious musical associations and institutions as Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, Teatro Annibale di Francia in Messina, Teatro Manzoni in Pistoia, Auditorium Haydn in Bolzano, Conservatorio of music di Milano and Torino, Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, Teatro Sascahll Firenze, Stagione Concertistica del Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, at Blue Note Milano and throughout Italy, in 1998 they won the Quartetto Cetra prize, in 2006 the Premio Carosone.
They also took part to many radio shows in Italy and in Switzerland (ReteUno RSI, Radio Deejay, Radio Capital, Radio Popolare, RockFM, Radio Rai Tre, Radio Montecarlo, Radio Classica, Radio RAI UNO, Viva Radio Due...) as well as TV shows (Buona Domenica, together with Tullio De Piscopo, and Tutte le Mattine on Canale 5 with Maurizio Costanzo; Roxy Bar on VideoMusic together with Andrea Mingardi; "Alle due su Rai UNO" hosted by Paolo Limiti, Tele+3, Antenna Tre TV). In 1998, 2000 and 2006 "ALTI & BASSI" sang in Wien (OS) for the "Voice Mania" festival, they also were in Zug (CH) for the first "A Cappella Festival".
Their show is absolutely interesting and amusing:
MEDLEY: the music of '900 in a survey of a cappella jazz medleys, Walt Disney soundtracks, Musicals, Italian swing, the Beatles, the BeeGees, Battisti, etc..... All great and unique vocal elaboratios intentionally written for the " Alti & Bassi " quintet by Italian composers and jazzmen.
Discography : The Alti & Bassi quintet have already recorded four CDs:
1) Il Mito Americano in 1998, presented by Lucia Mannucci and Virgilio Savona of Quartetto Cetra.
2) Il Favoloso Gershwin in 2001, presented by Lelio Luttazzi.
3) Take five!. Its a collection of five jazz a cappella Christmas tracks each belonging to a different gender of music. Presented by the jazz guitarist Franco Cerri and the special guest of Nick The Night Fly.
4) MEDLEY in 2005, presented by Paolo Conte. A Cappella Walt Disney, Broadway Musicals, Platters, West Side Story, Beatles, Lucio Battisti and Bee Gees.
