I am here for Friends

About Me

What can I say... I was born in Grand Rapids Michigan. Most of my childhood I lived in Ada, a small suburb just outside of GR. It's unclear to me how young I was when I decided that I wanted to be in the entertainment industry. I know that the first recorded "performance" of me was when I was 3 years old. On some holiday (unclear which one) my mom was playing cards with my grandma and other family members... I climbed up onto the table and sang the theme to "Happy Days"... shaking like Elvis and kicking the cards off the table... I get 10 punk points for that one... The first movie I remember seeing in the theater was "Fantasia" also at around 3. I do remember that we were going to see another movie and while waiting for it to start my mom sneaked us into the theater to watch a little of it. We caught it at the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment, hence my lifetime fascination with evil. (Oh my God... That's the first time I've acknowledged that Disney drove me to the dark side! Ladies and Gentlemen! We have a breakthrough!) When we walked out of the theater to go see whatever the hell we were actually going to see I told my mom that "I'm gonna do that someday". That was when I actually decided that I wanted to make movies, not be in them. The images of the devil and the burning, flying skulls... they still stand out in my head... I've never watched it since... (Note to self: Buy Fantasia... 2nd Note to self: Never let Jude see it). Since there is no such thing as "Goth" points I'll give myself 5 punk points for that turning point in my life. "Jaws" came out when I was 3... I remember seeing it on TV when I was really young, like around 4... My parents took my brother and I to a drive-in theater to some some movie (again... I don't remember the first movie). When "Jaws" started my mom told my brother and I to go to sleep in the back of the station wagon (she had prepared really comfy beds and everything). I of course pretended to be asleep until she wasn't paying attention and watched the whole thing. The next morning my brother TJ and I were eating breakfast. My mom realized that I watched it because I was re-enacting the whole scene where "Jaws" attacks the boat and eats Robert Shaw's character Quint. I was the shark and Robert Shaw was the sausage... That movie was what made Steven Spielberg my idol... Even though I was only 4, I started telling my mom how much I wanted to be like him. 10 punk points for the re-enactment... Minus 5 for the now realized homo-erotic image of me pretending Robert Shaw was a sausage. Movie MySpace Layouts - 300 MySpace Layouts Movie MySpace Layouts
