horror movies are the best. weirdo and quirky works. classic 70's movies. dark and depressing. arthouse/cult films. the occasional laugh. foreign (especially chinese and japanese). documentaries. i'll watch just about anything at least once. don't get me started on this subject! i love bits of trivia......some personal faves: suspiria, royal tenenbaums, brazil, marathon man, any Akira Kurosawa film i've seen, el topo, blade runner, taxi driver, black sabbath, alien, the conversation, the beyond, halloween, akira, rosemary's baby, river's edge, apocalypse now, eraserhead, blue velvet, audition, battle royale, dawn of the dead, the deer hunter, the corporation, rocky horror picture show, the warriors, boondock saints, city on fire, donnie darko, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, delicatessen, a clockwork orange, and MANY MANY more i've forgotten!
don't watch too much tv, but i do like lost. i must confess a weakness for BTVS, arrested development, and six feet under. oh yeah, and iron chef - they make the craziest shit i've seen. aqua teen hunger force, the venture bros, and robot chicken quench my thirst for the absurd...
i must admit i love h.p.lovecraft for his take on madness and the bizarre denizens of dark dimensions. spalding gray. robert heinlein had some interesting takes on life, death, and love. for the ultimate in gloom, george orwell is a must. carlos castaneda. ERB for pure escapism. art and photography books. i also like to read about other people's personal problems - that way i know i'm not the only fucked up person out there! edward gorey
