I am here for Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm one of those Gaelic Polytheist, activist types, with a commitment to preserving traditional languages and cultures, as well as a deep involvement in the surviving ancestral customs as part of a modern spiritual practice.
One of the founders of the modern Gaelic Polytheism / Celtic Reconstructionist movement - a collective effort to preserve the living Gaelic cultures and to preserve, revive and restore the earth-based religious traditions of my ancestors - I'm an author, editor and artist, ban-sagart na Brìghde, researcher, and practical mystic. Co-author/editor of The CR FAQ: An Introduction to Celtic Reconstructionism as well as numerous articles, primarily in the fields of religion, politics, and music criticism. Some of my projects:
paganachd.comaguspàganachd bhandia
A note on terminology: for the sake of accessibility and group consensus, I went with the collective decision to include the word " Pagan " on the CR FAQ. However, my life, family, culture and religion are rather different from most of what you will find on the Internet under that category. By the technical definition, any non- Abrahamic religion is "pagan", and any modern religion based on the pre-Judeo-Christian religions is "Pagan" (or, more accurately, "NeoPagan"). But the modern Pagan community has a lot of problems with racism and cultural misappropriation, among other things, so I have a certain distance from most of the current manifestations of that community.
Spiritually and culturally, most of my family, friends and allies are traditionals, revivalists, and reconstructionists, from a variety of cultural backgrounds. While my beliefs and practice are culturally specific, the people I hang with are rather diverse. So, racists, misogynists, heterosexists and other bigots who like to use ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation as a weapon are not welcome here. Those with mutual respect and integrity are welcomed with open arms, warm smiles, and full-on Gaelic hospitality :-)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with honour and integrity, who value rigorous honesty hand in hand with deep compassion. Those who stand up against injustice and abuse. Those who take action, want to change the world, and are willing to do the cultural and activist work to do so.

Traditionals, Revivalists and Reconstructionists, Gàidhlig agus Gaeilge speakers, grounded mystics, people with similar tastes in music and art, fascinating people with an excellent sense of humour, radical politics preferred ;-)

Some videos:
