"CHASE THE DREAM...NOT THE COMPETITION!"
From early ages of his life, decoy was always involved in music. Growing up
enjoying dancing, many different genres of music. Decoy got his first pair of decks at the age of 12 after a week of practising, he knew he wanted to perform.
A couple of weeks after he got his decks, they accidently fell from the table and broke. After this decoy
didnt get his next pair of decks until December 2005 but still kept buying vinyl and cds. In March 2006 Decoy teamed up with LQD and J-Black to create W-E-C, as they were very
interested in the new genre that was hitting the streets "Grime". The three of them were enthusiastic to get involved and started writing bars, recording tracks and sending them out. W.E.C stands for Wide Eye Crew, decoy,
lqd and J-black made this name up one night for a joke but people started to take the name seriously so thats just what stuck.. the main people you've heard through the tracks are me- DJ Decoy, LQD, J-black, Lil_B,
Lil Viper, Younga D.. other names to mention are Tu, Reload, Radius, Pezza, Jinx Man, Davion, Tixy, Venom... 7/7 productionz is the record label we classed ourselves under, Me and LQD formed this label to promote our own tracks,
and bring other unknown artists through.. After a few months of doing tracks and one disagreement to many,
W.E.C decided to go there seperate ways and work on solo projects. LQD is still writing lyrics and making moves within the west midlands, making different collaborations with different artists which include Chezzard, Sargeant and Gully Man more info on LQD can be found on myspace.com/lqd2006.
Decoy decided to concentrate on his dj'ing, he then landed himself a spot on midlands underground 107fm, one of the biggest pirate radio stations in the midlands with the help of DJ Apostle and TIXY.
He has now been given residence every saturday in the red room at Sugar Bar, Broad Street, Wolverhampton, and has played at private parties and a few special events such as EyeCandy© and Illusion©. In the late 2006 Decoy has been signed
up for DEF JAM UK & WESTWOOD Street team,
which will see him playing many big events soon to come in 2007. Decoy is just starting to get noticed for his talent and good choice of music, aswell as his diversity. Mixing in old skool with fresh tunes from
R'n'B/ Hip Hop to Dancehall and has been known to play a little Garage, 4x4, Funky house, Club Classics. Dj Decoy is always looking to advance in the industry, play more events, collaborate with more people, and make more unique beats. For more info,

The summer of 2006, just a few months after starting out, Decoy landed his first residency at The Sugar Bar, Broad Street, Wolverhampton, playing every saturday and each main event. He gained valuable expierence but felt the need to move
on to bigger and better things. 2008 is going to see the re-birth of Decoy, you will see him mixing 4x4 Basslines, alongside R'n'B and Hip hop.
