About Me

I am still wondering about this myself. Am I what I do, or am I what I believe? I've lived in Asia for 5 years and Italy for 7 years, there is no doubt it has rubbed off on me. I lived and sailed for another 9 years on my 71' and then 92' sailboat. I am currently training for some major climbs in the Himalayas. I feel as though I'm easy going when allowed to be. At times I have to be strict with myself and others just to get the job done. I can be lazy, but it doesn’t last very long. My job is world wide and I travel way too much. My standards are high, but not false. I like people on the whole and can be quite social, although I don't like to suffer fools, but of course I do, very well as it goes with my job. I like and know nice things, but I can live a simple life, having "things" isn't important for me, but of course I do like them. I care and love my children very much, but I also have my life to live as do they. When I do things, I always think what effect it will have on my family and will they continue to be proud of me, not just love me. I believe in Love at First Sight and that it can last forever, if people will think about their actions. I believe in politeness and good manors. That might make me a little old fashioned?

My Interests

I enjoy, flying gliders and jets, sailing, diving, bicycling and mountain climbing. Enjoy dinning, reading, and good movies. Music is always an enjoyment, but I never remember who wrote or sang it. I like horses and dogs, but neither in the city.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who captures my soul. Someone that can smile & laugh, be fun and is still be hard working and responsible. Someone who likes to snuggle and kiss. Likes long walks, but also can be happy to be at home and chill. Someone who is a partner, not a dependant. Someone who sees me for who and what I am, yet still loves me. Someone who is physically active and mentally sharp. Likes to read and can discuss topics with intelligence. Someone adventurous and interesting. Beautiful on the inside, (beautiful on the outside is a definite plus:) Someone who has a spiritual body within themselves. Someone who can make my heart race and I theirs. Someone who is honest unto themselves and others and can stand their ground. A partner for life.

Music:

I like various types of music depending on the mood or what I am doing. I've become very attached to my iPod.

Movies:

I normally choose Action or Adventure films. But I watch a ton of Travel and Documentaries to find new things to do. I like "Chick-Flicks" at times, but don't normally pick them. I don't like to see emotional pain or Horror films.

Television:

I don't watch much TV, in fact I've turned off the cable. I'm disgusted with American politics and the lack of backbone. The "over the top" Political Correctness for fear of hurting someone's feelings, even if they need to be told. So why watch it?

Books:

Historical Fiction for those mindless hours on airplanes. Books on tapes for those two, four hour shifts standing watch on the ship. Everything from Harry Potter to Mao. Patrick O'Brien to Stephen King, Spy novels and adventures. Then there are all those books, too damn many, that I have to read for work!!! Yuk!

Heroes:

Henry B. Middleton and Merle A. Hinrichs.

Preparing for Mt. Everest

Well I've done the cardinal no-no; I've over trained or something. Anyway after my last entry I went for a run and managed somehow to injure myself.  While running, I felt this incredible pain in...
