The Sharpest Knives in the Drawer

About Me

The Sharpest Knives are the most eccentric band in Greenville, remarked no less an authority on weird stuff than David Dill, who jerked his head to the side as he slicked a few restless stray hairs back into his greasy coiffure. In a town like Greenville, being tagged the most popular or most commercial band is akin to being called the tallest midget in the world. But most eccentric in a town swarming with greasers, weirdoes, stoners, and even the occasional wannabe hipster? Surely this is a good sign that the Sharpest Knives are doing something right...The Sharpest Knives in the Drawer crept into the collective consciousness of the Upstate South Carolina music scene in late 2002, after having played under various other sundry titles for the better part of two years. Quickly, they established themselves as the musical Bruce Lees on the scene - lean, agile, and dedicated only to the style of no style. Onstage, the bands hooky songs are attacked, twisted, and stretched to the breaking point by the bands unpredictable dynamics...The Sharpest Knives in the Drawer make music that the core dude can ninja kick to, blissfully unaware that even now the Knives crafty songs are finding their way onto his girlfriends iPod...The Sharpest Knives are Brian Jeter (bass), Matt Acton(drums), Nick Brown (vocals), George Fish (guitar and keyboard), and Max Price (guitar). Five oddballs with a penchant for blurring genres and confounding expectations. Now - sit back and let the Sharpest Knives in the Drawers debut album seep slowly into your soft, squishy brain...Yeah, thats the stuff.

Rico the Roadie

We don't get that many out of town shows, and its a damn shame, because we've decided that our friend Rico is the ultimate roadie.  He's nigh invulnerable (just like the Tick), and he's prov...

Recording Day 3

We got rhythm tracks for seven more songs today.  Most of 'em feel like keepers, though we might have the edit together some takes.  Nevertheless, a big chunk of the album is done, and ...

Recording: Day 1

Me, Matt, and Brian went in with Ken (that's our engineer) tonight and got the drums and bass set up.  And it only took four hours!  I got bored so I hung up a bunch of Halloween decorations...

Promo pics

There are new pics of us looking fairly ridiculous up here.  We did some inadvisable things to a shopping cart and an 89' Buick, but hopefully we got a few shots where we don't all...

Good news, everyone!

Couple of things: First off, we'd like to welcome aboard George Fish (of Japan/the Savvys /the Yurricks fame) as the newest member of the band.  George will be playing guitar, keyboard, and whate...
