About Me

Hey all!
Coop here! This is a brief lowdown of Shallow Bay.
I started playing & writing when i was 16 and continued doing it ever since. I've so far been in 2 bands. They were Candlewax & Showerhead (Santine & Bleed). Whenever I write our original songs it always seems to be like 4 in the morning or something, i just write easier when i'm tired or alone. Sounds depressing but whoever heard of a happy poet! Not that i consider myself a poet or anything but like songwriting and poetry are kinda simi...............you know what i'm just gonna stop there. I dunno how Craig's writing process works but it's gotta be easier than mine.
Anyways, we started as just a two piece originally. Me and Craig used to do jam nights at a local pub and always used to talk about how we really wanted to get a full band together. We had the songs, just no band to perform them. To cut a long story short I found out my old pal Tim from my 'Haven' days was learning drums so I asked him if he wanted to form a band. He immediately said yes and so we formed our original line-up.
Shortly after getting together we enlisted the help of another guitar player called Ettienne (he was french) who also played at various jam nights. Unfortunately Eti's stay was a short one. Tensions in the band we're starting to show until Coop when day asked his fellow work mate Jason if he wanted to join. Initialy he politely declined but after some persistant nagging he eventually agreed to come to a practice session.
So it was a sunday afternoon and we only had about an hour left of an 8 hour practice session when Jason finally decides to show up. As a band we decided that if this guy was gonna join us then we had better play off our (at the time) best song. This was Falling Down, Jason immediately fell in love with the song and the rest is, as they say, history....kind of. For Mr. Vincent is alas no longer with us but as Fredie Mercury once spouted "THE SHOW MUST GO ON". So now we have ourselves a new bass player and we're more enthusiastic about what we're doing than ever. We're still in the practicing stages with him but we're making really good and fast progress. So look out for us in the near future!
