About Me

it's all about growth...i always say i'm a singer/songwriter who's spent the first ?yrs listening. now i have something to say.i come from a musical family and i grew up singing, though i was always too shy to sing lead parts back then.lol. i was raised on the music of my grandfather and uncle's churches, my uncle bill's bands, go-go, old school hip-hop, and roots reggae. later i was introduced to the powerful music of africa (highlife, afro-beat, ritual music) and bahia/brasil (capoeira angola, samba, candomble). all this music is what inspires me. what i see around me inspires my lyrics.my music experesses a lot of lessons i have learned and am still learning. i came to songwriting by having a lot to say to more people to say it to than i could ever hope to meet. music for me is a way to say it. hopefully you'll follow my music and what you'll hear is growth. not just in my understanding of this music but of the world we live, love, and struggle in.bless,kojo
