It is unclear when The Amazing THE first started playing together. However it is commonly held true that their first gig was held in Las Vegas in 1952. Touring across America for a couple years, making small bucks, they reached international recognition with their hit single McCarthy. The criticism that arose from this song led the members of ThAT to be questioned multiple times by the NSA and 28 states banned the record from being played on the air. Claiming it was “filthy communist propagandaâ€.
