Skaters, Skateboards, and skating have changed a whole lot through the years. Thrasher has remained true to its roots. Skateboarding is now an official sport for fat, lazy yuppies to watch. there is no such thing as a fan of skateboarding. you either skate or your a poser. just because yuppies rock skate shoes on the weekend does not mean shit to a skater. if you tell people you are a fan of skateboarding, you deserve to get smacked in the face with an open hand unless maybe you are past the age of 70. it is really hard to understand the peanut-sized mind of a yuppie. A skater will pass by them, and they have to yell some stupid shit like, "Do a kickflip." whats the point? are the looking for some attention from the skater? instead of doing a kickflip, curse them out. spit on them and pass by them and grab your fucking balls. let the yuppie know skateboarding is not all about just soda pops. Skateboarding is blood and sweat. some people really don't know the meaning of skating at all. they think about being in videos or making a career out of it. they land a couple hard tricks with no style, and then they expect to be a sponsored am. five years later they realize their dreams were dreams, they quit skating, and they moved on to the next cool thing. then one day, they'll see someone skating and all of a sudden they again will have the urge to skate. they will approach the skater and try to act all cool, like, "i used to skate. can i try your board out?" what are you trying to prove? if they were the real deal, they'd respect the skater and know not to ask them to try their board out. who gives a shit that this guy used to skate? almost everybody has skated at one time in their lives. skaters used to bond, and now they look the other way when they pass one another. one thing that did not change besides Thrasher mag is that, no matter what, you are going to have fun when you skate. Shout out to Duane Peters, the best skateboarder in history.
