E.C.F. Entertainment is comprised of skilled DJs, Producers, and MCs. Founded many moons ago, the initial motivation behind the company was to deliver the ultimate party experience. Developed off the backs of DJs - the party starters/movers/enders - Rocking crowds was the forte. Selecting the right records, seamless mixes, air-tight scratches, and can't miss blends are the ingredients to E.C.F.'s formula. As the music industry began to change, so did E.C.F. Entertainment's outlook on conquering the party world. It is always important to specialize, focusing on the one thing we've done GREAT - but it is equally as important to maximize - growing to incorporate individuals with specific skills, joining together to create some sort of SUPER POWER. With that, E.C.F. entered the new millenium with new focus, and new drive. Expanding to include a Formal division - so as to capitalize on the GREAT party vibe with any celebration. Expanding to include battle-tested MCs and wordsmiths - so as to explore new possibilities with studio recording and song development. Expanding to include creative, unique beat-makers - as to develop our musical ear and mature our tastes. In all these ways, E.C.F. has created a universe of music within itself. The talanted individuals who comprise the crew shine in their own ways, yet are very complimentary to one another. This bond creates a chemistry unknown to most camps. This chemistry is exemplified by their club nights, mixtapes, and performances...anyone who is anyone can instantly tell why E.C.F. is an up and coming name...establishing themselves as THE crew in New England.
The crew is comprised of the following members with their skillset. DJ Shyne - Co-Founder. Shyne studied music industry at Northeastern University, providing a keen business sense to the company - helping develop E.C.F. into the formidable business it is today. Shyne is a DJ and remixer at his core...picking up turntables at 12 years of age. Shyne also has developed an engineer's ear, as he was trained by very influential recording engineers. As the company expands, Shyne also gets himself into the producer role, creating hits behind the MPC and Triton. E.C.F.'s Formal division is led by DJ Shyne, boasting a decade worth of wedding and corporate DJ experience. Shyne has also established a fan base via seemingly peripheral outlets. Working with both an original, soul-influenced rock band, as well as joining with a soul and funk cover band - additionally working with Skope Magazine and Skope Live - has opened up new markets for Shyne. Lastly, Shyne is heavy into the marketing and promotion of E.C.F. Entertainment. Whether it be running the website behind the scenes (www.ecfentertainment.com // www.djshyneonline.com) or working the MySpace/Facebook scenes, Shyne continues to deliver the E.C.F. brand to the masses. J Boogz - Co-Founder. Boogz is a very technically sound DJ and remixer. Working in front of numerous, and massive, crowds provides Boogz with a unique, but experienced approach to the party scene. Trained under some of the most influential names in DJing on the East Coast, Boogz learned a style all his own, trusted it, and ran with it. Boasting over 10 years of club DJing experience, there is not any spot in and around town that he doesn't have some sort of connection to. With musicians in the family, theoretical concepts and semi-formal training have followed Boogz all his life - making the leap into production all the more necessary. As the demand for studio time grew, as did Boogz' passion for engineering. Both Shyne and Boogz represent the pinnacle of the company, providing leadership and guidance. DJ T-Roc. T-Roc started DJing at a very young age, gaining quick recognition, resulting in club residencies early in his career. With THE keenest ear for music from the Carribean, T-Roc is respected for a thorough knowledge of Dancehall and Reggaeton. T has always worked at staying on top of his game, building his music library, and getting himself into beautiful clubs and venues. The youngest of the crew, T is reaching the peak of his DJing - rising to the top in quick strides. Reality. The man is a straight BEAST on the MIC. Reality, aka Realz, brings heat like his job was furnace installation. A true professional in the studio...with obvious attention to detail, while being able to inject a sense of Hip Hop Fun into the mix. Lyrically, Realz is witty and daring with his punchlines and metaphors. He combines a "ready-for-radio" vocal tone, with devestating rhymes, and a desire to be the best he can be...all ingredients that direct him to superstardom. He can kick something for the OGs, or wind it down and mack it to the ladies. Either way, be on the look out for the realest dude in this biz...Realz. JT the Perfectionist. His moniker truly represents the man behind the Mic. JT works countless hours honing his craft - preparing witty, punishing rhymes and working just the right sample laiden track beneath them - JT is a beast. Hailing from the 603, JT brings a new fan base to the Boston based E.C.F. Crew, expanding our reach even further. Reaching back into the depths of his own mind, JT constantly evokes - "Did He Just Say What I Think He Said?" - comments from his listeners. Reinventing the concept of traditional MC is what is truly intriguing. Swift. Swifto is one of those crazy MCs with humorous punchlines and twisted metaphors. Swift provides that duality that, as humans, we all search for - a very real, grimey side balanced with a mix of down-to-earth, light-heartedness in his approach to the mic. Swift has been down for years, and is developing a unique market for himself. Coming from Freestyle Fridays out at the club many years ago, Swifto was seen as a gem in the rough. Blake B. Blake holds it down on the 1s and 2s, delivering the funkiest in house and electronic music. With a flavor for deep, underground sounds, Blake B. is a definite to light up any dance floor. It's important to be a diverse group, and Blake brings a strong presence to the crew. His ability to provide unique insight into E.C.F. Production allows the crew to release fresh sounds, unique to E.C.F. alone. Hamel. Chris Hamel is one soulful dude. As producer in the crew, Hamel provides that soul-laden sound that we have come to love. Inspired by the likes of Kanye West, J Dilla and DJ Premier, Hamel delivers that head-knock, boom-bap, TRUE Hip Hop sound to our production team. Look out for cool projects such as "BeatWatch" which combines Hamel's beats with classic films in American history. Too dope! Currently, rappers Truth, Cyrus & Lega-C are recording their projects at E.C.F. Studios. Truth, originally from Detroit, has been in the lab weekly putting the final touches on his album. Cyrus is always in and out of the studio lending a verse to E.C.F. affiliates and recording original material for the streets. And Lega-C is gearing up for his demo release, recording with Shyne hammering out his project.
