About Me
"Curiouser and curiouser!" cried Alice. ******************************************************On this side of the looking-glass......I'm a native Santa Barbaran, and I love this beautiful town, even though it is a place of social, economic and geographic distortion and therefore not the "real world". It is my home. I live in the top floor of an old converted barn a ten minute walk from the beach. I work at home doing restoration on antiques. I love people, even though I'm kind of a hermit. Working with my hands for a living is awesome, though I'm definitely feeling the recent downturn of our economy, and I'm looking for work. Also back in school (again) to broaden my horizons.I'm also an artist. All of the geometric designs I have posted here are all from 1993-2002, just the pieces I have good photos of. All my drawings and paintings were executed free-handed, most of them very slowly, with much concentration, toil and joy. The collages are a new fun thing, they're all cut from old National Geographics. I read, I write, I dance around to good music, I run on the beach tide-premitting, I work out, I eat good food, and I occasionally get real silly with my friends. I love long road-trips, camping, playing hackey-sack, walking around town, seeing live bands play, long philosophical talks, my two cats, other people's dogs, my family, and good stories. I'm better in person. I listen to a lot of Public Radio and books on CD while I work, and don't watch much TV, because it makes my brain all gooey, and usually don't have the time for it anyway. I'm a sucker for a good single-malt scotch (the island malts being my favorites, the really super smoky-peaty-sea-weedy ones), as well as a good strong beer. I don't go wine tasting, but I like it. Right now, kale is my favorite vegetable. I'm an omnivore, but I try not to eat things I wouldn't be willing to kill myself.
