What is it that separates a good band from a great one? Songs. You always remember great songs because they have their own individuality or traits that make the listener feel various emotions. DoDriver embodies that sensation. Their whole existence is based on making music they feel good about and, more importantly, that the listener will remember for a long time. DoDriver originates from Buffalo, New York and is comprised of members of great local bands like Jive Injection/Jive5 and Jygsaw. The band won three consecutive years at the Nightlife Music Awards for best original hard rock group and has performed over 1200 times since its inception. As well as Buffalo and its many surrounding cities, DoDriver has performed in Lansing, Michigan, Cleveland, OH, Erie, PA, Toronto and Niagara Falls, Canada, Portland, ME, New York, NY and a two-week, nine show “mini tour†of Puerto Rico that culminated at the Hard Rock Café in San Juan. With over 100 original songs the band has something for everyone. DoDriver’s music is rooted in rock with a definite riff-oriented style, mix in a few pop elements and you get great commercial appeal. With this style the band has the flexibility to perform with a great variety of other acts. They have shared the stage with I Mother Earth, The Tea Party, Moist, Teenage Head, Staind, Oleander and Econoline Crush. The song Dozer has received extremely favorable reviews on Garageband.com, it peaked at number 7 out of almost 7,000 songs in the rock category and in August of 2003 DoDriver was the site’s artist of the week. The group has released three demo CD’s, “Sinusâ€, “Manâ€, and “Neon†selling a total of 3200 copies through regional stores and at live venues. From their current self-titled CD, the songs “Circus†and “Once in a while†have received radio airplay in West Virginia through the Undiscovered radio network on 106.3 WAMX,107.5 WEGW, and 103.1 WHBR and in Arkansas on 95.3 KERX. In their own hometown through local radio shows on 103.3 WEDG and 91.3 WBNY DoDriver is confident their music will reach many listeners who need songs that have personality and style that most artists just don’t produce any more.
