HED TRIP has been around since the summer of 2000. Born out of Boyle Heights, Ca. we started out as a local Promoter/Organizer for the East Los Angeles Backyard Scene. The idea, in the beginning, was basically to make the show happen no matter what. Whether it was dealing with the Police, drunken kids, and/or some asshole that feels he/she owns the neighborhood. Eventually we took Hed Trip to the web as an informative source on how to contact local bands or to find out what shows were going on the weekend.
Trying to grow and looking for challenges we created a music fest lovingly dubbed SHITFEST; which only happens every other year. This fest was created out of devotion and love for music and our community. This gave us a way to help promote local bands by setting them up to play with bigger bands and get an opportunity to grow and maybe eventually tour. Sadly, even in a scene like ours you need to know people and I like to think that we break down that barrier to offer an opportunity to the smallest of bands. To those who dont know, these fests are funded out of our own pockets and weve either lost a lot of money or barely break even. But if you ask me, Would you do it again? Id say Fuck yea, its all love. If you dont understand you never will.
Now another year has past and we have gone through our ups and downs. We dont setup as many shows as we use to but here and there we manage to set something up in our spare time. You can always depend on SHITFEST happening every other year. Though were not busy with shows you can always depend on our site being up. The site can be used to link your band up or post your upcoming shows. Its easy and best of all its free. Our site has gone through a lot of changes and sadly we have lost information during these changes. But we finally feel like we found the perfect format the best fits us. Of course we are always open to any ideas or suggestion you might have. So please let us know. ITS BEEN SIX YEARS OF MUSIC HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE ANOTHER SIX WITH THE SUPPORT OF OUR FRIENDS AND BANDS.

Flat rate: $180 for 10 songs
Gorilla Gimp records/works in Baldwin Park. But they can travel to where you are if you prefer . There's a $50 extra charge for them to lug all of their equipment to your place.
