The Year was 1999, Sacramento,CA was the place, Jake Phelps was amidst it all, The Rave scene was at it's pinacle in California and Jake was begining to understand what it all meant for him, at the time, there were great parties, great people, and a new form of music for him to fall in love with, That Music was Electronic Dance Music and even more specifically the Trance & Progressive Sub Genres of this Massive EDM Movement. Jake found Trance to be his weakness, he loved the beautifully flowing melodies, Rumbling basslines and consistently Slamming Drum Kicks. He continued to party and dance at Club Events & Underground Raves until 2003 when he decided that his love of this music was his calling to take his passion with the music to the next level.
In 2003 he purchased his 1st DJ setup and began learning the ways of the DJ's that he had seen so many times. For 2 years, while living in Texas, He played at house parties and small club events honing his skills and learning how to read his audience to find what people reacted to the most. In 2005, now back in California, He Started hosting a monthly Internet Radio Show on the Canadian dance music radio website www.Tracklists.Ca called "Lost Frequency" He also began playing at club events and raves in Northern & Southern California. Since 2005 Razor Nukels has been featured on Internet Radio Stations Such as: www.ETN.Fm , www.Party107.com , www.Pure.Fm , Warped Radio , Electronic Beats Radio, www.osmuzikradio.com and in 2007 Hosting another monthly radio show on www.Sense.Fm called "Electronic Simulation". Also in 2007 He Co-founded "Progreshiva Productions" with his partner DJ Increase with the idea of providing more quality dance events in the Northern California area.
Razor Nukels Has shared the stage with great DJ's & Producers such as: DJ Dan, Tom Colontonio, Deep Voices, Mars & Mystre, Shawn Mitiska, Donald Glaude, Michael Badal, Dyloot, Reverse, Thee-O, Dragnfly & Ron Reeser to name a few, all the while spreading his own unique blend of Progressive, Tech, Vocal, Uplifting & Banging Trance as well as Funky Progressive & Electro House.
As of the last 2 years Razor Nukels has been in studio banging out great Bootlegs, Mashups, Remixes and Original Productions so that he may one day make that list of great Producer / DJ's. Now in 2009, 10 years after his original emergence into this scene and 6 years after his 1st DJ Session, he continues to progress as a Producer, DJ , Event Planner and E.D.M. Enthusiast, IF you ask him, why do you do all of this? He will tell you, "I Love Electronic Music, The Great parties, The outstanding friends I have met through this music and most importantly, I want to give something back to all the people who are finding their own way in this scene just as i was 10 years ago." The future is bright for Jake as he looks forward to future crowd rocking DJ events and record releases under the aliases: Jake De Silva, Mr. Nuks, Prolifik 1 and of course Razor Nukels.
