The Boogies play honest, heartfelt, American roots
rock, and they do it with plenty of passion and
emotion. There are no pretensions or illusions about
looking pretty. These guys come out to play and they
mean business. The minute they hit the stage, its
balls to the wall rock and roll--from the first note
until the last. These guys simply give it their all, make ya big toe kick up in ya boot.
The Band formed out of the remnants of an earlier
incarnation know as The Nerve Endings. The Nerve
Endings played bars around the Bay Area and destroyed
people with their high energy and enthusiasm. The band
broke up about five years ago, but the musical bond
between the members remained strong.
The story of the Boogies began about 20 years ago. Brothers
Heavy G and 'Trick' started playing high energy
rock together when they were young lads growing up in
Pittsburg, California. Times were rough back then, but
rock and roll kept the boys off the streets. The
brothers rocked many a block party. In 2000 they found
the missing piece to their rock and roll puzzle in the
form of bass player Boon 'Tang' Sramala. Boontang's thunderous
bass playing was just what the doctor ordered.
But the brothers still needed another guitarist to
give them the big sound they were looking for. They
decided to contact an old friend from high school.
Phil "Cap'n Cock' Corsetti jumped at the chance to play with these
local legends and the Boogies were formed.
