SMITHFIELD FAIR

About Me

Although Smithfield Fair is in its 20th year, the members were previously together in Charmer and the two groups represent 4 decades of original music. Evidence the combined songwriting and performing captured on "Smithfield Fair: Twenty for Twenty" and "Charmer: The Perfect Cafe", and a sense of dedication is apparent. Their music is a pastiche - a strong blending of Celtic and Americana - including bits of blues, gospel, jazz, folk, classical and pop. Truly, as one reviewer remarked, Smithfield Fair is "a folksy Supertramp." Jan, Dudley and Bob have also combined with long-time co-producer/guitarist J. David Praet and percussionist Merel Bregante on the acclaimed "Walking Through This World" and will again on the upcoming Summer 2009 release "The Longing" - from which the new Jan & Dudley composition "Radio" is presented above. Long noted by critics and reviewers for the warmth and high standard of quality in their recordings and performances, the trio continues to received worldwide recognition and airplay.
