Ian took up the guitar after hearing his father playing a Leadbelly tune on the guitar.
He moved to London and began playing folk/ blues acoustic clubs in and around London, such as The Troubadour and Bunjies in Soho.
A couple of years on the acoustic circuit and Ian formed the band Silver.
Once signed to Warner Bros via the Medicine label they recorded an album with Craig Leon (producer of The Ramones and Blondie)
and also released singles in the UK for Rough Trade Records. Ian is influenced by songwriters such as Harry Nilsson, Roy Harper, Ray Davies and Neil Young.
He can be seen playing at clubs such as Notting Hill Arts Club and The Borderline in London.
