Man of fire is an idea that was masterminded
by Jeremy Long through becoming a fearless product of
his environment. At a young age he used his golden
voice to win crowds over, young and old. Wandering
down every avenue of musical performance became his
childhood quest. But, in the midst of this grand
musical journey something happened that would change
his life forever. Jeremy realized his first true love,
the electric guitar.
He then went on to lead a three piece
powerhouse rock band by the name of Tork. An extreme
passion for music drove him to be an awe inspiring
presence on and off the stage. Jeremy was selflessly
manufacturing original material intriguing enough to
thrust him into the local spotlight at the age of 16.
Through the epic reign of Tork he continued to hone
his talent as a singer/songwriter, and progressive
guitar player. While becoming increasingly frustrated
by the corporate politics choking the industry and the
"generic lifeless pop"Â being supplied to the
populace, Jeremy decided to abandon his first band and
form his own unique and individual project, "Man of
Fire". He set out to bring together a solo project
that far surpassed the mediocrity, which was being
force-fed to the masses. This was his chance to create
a situation that enabled him to make the music he
loved on his own terms, and be treated fairly in the
process.
"Man of Fire" has consistently pushed the boundaries
of its sound--a groundbreaking blend of rock, blues
and classic metal influences with energy reminiscent
of the glory days when music was art and innovation
was king. Front-man, Jeremy Long calls the project "a
radiant glorification of music and its ability to
help extinguish our despair.Â
This one man band seamlessly melds the epic
mysticism and melody of vintage metal with startling,
full-throttle punk grooves and shrieks, a combination
that has helped him gain a rabid, under-the-radar
following. Thanks entirely to the charisma of Jeremy,
whose blistering riffs and seething roar bring to mind
a young "Chris Cornell" or "Kurt Cobain".
The new collaboration ensured consistent,
invigorating performances and set the pace for the
next phase of his career. His chemistry shows that he
is authentic about who he is and what he does and
"people appreciate that,"Â says Jeremy. People who
support this act know he is always going to give it
100% in terms of energy on stage, as well as
preparation beforehand.Â
His persistence has paid off as his fan base
in Northern California is growing significantly. A
constant swarm of local weekly gigs spread the word of
"Man of Fire's"Â classic level of showmanship, like
wildfire throughout the West Coast music scene. To
this day Man of Fire maintains a fresh and steady
command of it's material that never seems to
disappoint it's fans, and is likely to snare some new
ones when the lights go out and Jeremy Long hits the
stage.
The lesson learned is to always be true to
yourself and your art. His true sound would have
never been uncovered had he not been forced to dig a
little deeper. Fortunately by the time he returned to
independent status Man of Fire had already stamped an
influential mark and his fans stuck with him. With a
well balanced dynamic voice, poetic meaningful lyrics,
and a distinct yet experimental style on guitar, it's
easy to understand why Jeremy Long is indeed a real
"Man of Fire."
