Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Trombonist Alex Jeun's career began freelancing in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where the Alex Jeun Trio was formed. He made the move to New York City in 1999, where he eventually became one of the last trombonists to be personally hired by Lionel Hampton to play in the New York Big Band before his death. He has since enjoyed a diverse performing lifestyle with The Tommy Dorsey Band with Buddy Morrow, as the Assistant Conductor/Trombonist/Keyboardist of "Fame the Musical,", Phoenix Productions' North American and South Korean tours, the national tour of "Barry Manilow's Copacabana" and the Hawaiian tour of "A Chorus Line" In 2005, Alex Jeun made an international presence among trombonists as the Winner of the Eastern Trombone Workshop National Soloist Competition (held in Fort Meyers, Virginia), and 3rd Place of the First Antti Rissanen International Jazz Soloist Competition (held in Kotka, Finland).
