Fist Full of Funk

About Me

Formed in the summer of 2006, Fist Full of Funk brought together musicians from all over the bustling metropolis of Duxbury, Massachusetts. The idea for the band came about when Carl Mehrmann contacted Rob Doran about forming a band along with Carl's younger brother Craig (The Cregger). The three played together a few times, but it was obvious that something was missing, namely a guitar player. Craig suggested Paul Sullivan, and also introduced the idea of adding a saxophonist, Colin Edgar, to the group. From the first note, it was clear that these five guys had an infectious sound. The first song they played prompted Rob's overly proud mom to invite her friends over to hear the band play. With Colin Edgar manning not just one, but often two saxophones simultaneously; and Paul Sullivan adding -how else can I describe it- funky guitar, Craig, Carl, and Rob knew they had joined up with the right players to take their sound to the next level.Stay tuned for more Fist Full of Funk, who will surely be rocking a venue near you in no time at all.
