I am a man who lives deeply, and loves deeply (if you know what I mean!)
I am a lover of all sports, and have an interest in almost all aspects of the media. I have 11 children, 8 boys (Rommel, Stuart, Ryan, Kyle, Richard, Liam, Karl and Amari) and 3 girls (Adele, Shanice and Zhane).
I have been fortunate enough to display some kind of talent for entertaining people, whether as a DJ (which I did at Galaxy and BBC Leeds for a number of years) or as an MC/Compere for events of various sizes.
My small talent has enabled me to meet people like, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross,Buju Banton, DJ Swing R.I.P.(a big influence), D12, Dennis Brown, Guru (of Gangstarr), Lemar, Angie Stone, Miss Cherokee and too many others to mention.
I hope to use this as a forum to meet old (and new!) friends and chew the fat so to speak.Oh, a little bit of history; started a sound system at 15, then joined the best sound of its time (Mavrick) as selector/operator and singer!! In those days I played and performed with the likes of Stone Love, Coxsone, Saxon, Ray Symbolic, Metro Media, Wassifa, Taurus, Baron, V-Rocket and probably every important sound of the last 20 years.
Moved on to pirate radio as breakfast presenter, where I explored my love of ALL genres of music and established the now legendary 'Fluid Irie Slow Jam'. Head-hunted by Kiss 105 (later to become Galaxy 105)and was part of the UK's first Street Team (Sony), subsequently became a founder member of Tommy Boy St. Team, Warner St.Team (now Atlantic St.)as well as work with Hardzone (remember them!) and others.
DJ'd with everyone from Steve Sutherland, Trevor Nelson, Big John, Schoolboy, LTJ Bukem, Goldfinger, Westwood, Heartless Crew, Firin' Squad, Steve Wren, Shortee Blitz, DJ Diggz, Ronnie Herel and so many more!! Presented prime-time R&B show, also covered Hip-Hop specialist show, Filled in for L-Double (playing Drum & Bass and Garage), Reggae specialist shows and a Gospel Special across the network. Left Galaxy around 2000 and ended up @ BBC Leeds presenting the Black magazine show.
Won Black Achievers Award for Community Involvement in 2005.
Still toiling away in the clubs, most notably at my residency in Leeds (Bar Noir). For those who don't know, you can see me every August Bank Holiday Sunday, hostng the Annual Leeds Reggae Concert. 1xtra were there this year(2006) and it was off the chain! Appearances from Alton Ellis, Janet Kay, Carrol Thompson, YT, Suncycle and a special appearance from Cham! Leeds is growing fast, and I am their No.1 Ambassador!!Holla if you hear me!!
