About Willie Range

There is no band.
Willie Range is a fictional band playing blue country classics and obscurities, perhaps fronted by singer and harmonica player Bill Richards.
Bill Richards appears now and then at blues jam sessions in the Lansing area, and once in a while as a drop-in guest with Frog and the Beeftones.
As a solo club performer in the 1980s, Richards played folk & country, and was introduced to the blues playing in a duo with blues scholar and guitarist Steve 'Sky Dog' Bachleda.
As a drummer in the late '70s, Richards played swing/dance with Walt Laverdiere and the Tophatters, country with the Ronnie Dove Trio (not that Ronnie Dove), marches with the Copper County Band and Drill Team, musicals in the pit orchestra at the historic Calumet Theatre, dixieland and more with Bob Norden's Clown Band, and big band jazz with Don Keranen's MTU Jazz Lab Band (3).
