Quite simply, let us tell you what we are. We are a four piece instrumental band from Cleveland, Ohio that takes great pride in what we do. We take simple ideas, turn them in every direction, push them though a rusty processing plant, and hand you a product we consider worthy. We are old-school, blue collar workers who have an innate social responsibility to construct formulaic equations. We have the tendency to make things more difficult on ourselves out of necessity to bring you the proper PurseSnatcher representation. There are no vocals....but there are many words. You must decide what we are saying.
There are four men that brew the PurseSnatcher recipe: Rob, Melko, Drew, and Cougar. All from very different backgrounds and origins of location. All of whom have put enough blood, sweat, tears, and years in the densely populated Cleveland music scene to realize what could possibly come out of such a busy environment. Pre-Pursesnathcher, they were playing together in a vocally inclusive project (Watson387) when it was realized that potential for greater things exsisted. The instrumental route was chosen, and thus, PurseSnatcher was created.
Using the cohesive musical chemistry held by the musicians from their former projects, (...And Say we Did, Dick Goddard, Plugger, just to name a couple) and the years invested, a new breed of instrumental music was created. Intriguing time signatures and complex song structures with ADD friendly time spans with tasty application. Choosing to grab and hold the listener's attention in 3-4 minutes rants rather than using 10 minute epics, ISIS/PELICAN-style, is the current mission. The other objective was forming a strong base a of low-ended and steady, yet technical, rhythm section led by twin guitars that have not the fear of being melodically conquering.
You have 2 options for getting a true grasp of what's trying to be heard. You can obtain a copy of their EP entitled "Narrated By...", which is available in 2 different versions. The US version can picked-up at any live performance, or via the internet.
