Avoid Strangers, By Introducing Yourself!!!

About Me

People say that I've changed since I became a mother... but I'd like to think that mostly, I'm still the same. I just am not allowed to pick up hitchhikers anymore. I have to tote a diaper bag with me wherever I go. I am spontaneous between the hours of 7-10:30 am, and again when nap time cycles end about 4 or 5. I am a writer.... but only in the car when I'm driving somewhere and have the kids strapped in quietly in the back seat. I'm a fantastic business woman, at least in theory and in my own mind, and SOMEDAY I'll test that theory out. I'm patient, calm and collected... as long as everything is clean, picked up, and out from under my feet. I never leave the house without at least some mascara. I do still love the beach, but the truth is, I don't go often enough, and I'm ok with that for right now. I live for salsa dancing - someday I'll have my own club where I'll spend all my days pretending I'm in some far away exotic country. I like to cook, but only if I'm in the mood, and I have trouble following directions.... in that, I just don't. I think I like the IDEA of painting more than I actually like doing it. I don't read a lot of books because I have to FINISH whatever I read... like, that day. It's very consuming. I enjoy talking to strangers, and when I say I like to "travel", I just mean being in other places... travelling can be hectic and tiring. I love dogs, but I'm not huge on actually touching them. I really do think everyone should have their heart broken at least once; it's healthy. And I miss Florida... the weather in CocoaBeach was perfect for me: sunshine all day long, with an electric, windy (but warm) down pour every afternoon. I am better at one on one than groups. I have a hard time talking to people on the phone because I get too distracted. I hate being told no. I like when waiters just "surprise me" instead of making me decide on a selection. Drive thru fast food is stressful to me. Birthdays ARE and ALWAYS WILL BE a great big deal. If I miss yours, it's your own fault for not making it a big enough deal. I hate green apples. My two favorite birthday gifts were a pineapple, and concert tickets. I cut and dye my own hair because I don't trust the beauticians. A bikini wax was the most painful experience of my life... having two babies was nothing. I love to play dress up; it's not something I'll out grow. Fiona Apple is my hero and her music makes me happy. I am not realistic and I prefer to stay that way. And I always eat my fortune cookie BEFORE I read my fortune. My Interests

Duh, my kids! Coming up with ways to make each day unpredictable, original, and fun. My ideas, my plans, are what keep me breathing. The beach, music, film, photography... random road trips, meeting random people, being random in general.... travelling, .... food - cooking it, eating it... coffee shops (although that's more of an obsession).... Brian Webb (favorite musician ever!)... and making plans to go. Anywhere.

I'd like to meet:

I wanna meet people who are passionate. About anything really. I really appreciate people who share a love of music (particularly their own) FOOD, art(movies, books, paintings, photographs).... people who like to kick around random thoughts just for the heck of it. People who are comfortable with who they are and love getting to know new friends. People who understand being spontaneous and slightly irresponsible for the sake of feeling alive. =)

Music:

I love acoustic coffee shop soul stuff. You know, the kind that gives you goosebumps. The kind with deep, meaningful lyrics. The kind that makes you feel something so deep and rich. The kind the makes love to you. Brian Webb, Fiona Apple, Damien Rice, Seth, Mark, Jody... just a few of my favorites....

Movies:

Frida, Pinero, Amorres Perros, Pride and Prejudice, Under The Tuscan Sun, The Hours... any of those sappy chick flicks =).... Zoolander... anything with Antonio Banderas... Amelie, He Loves Me - He Loves Me Not.... ONCE.... and new favorite, Feast of Love!

Television:

The Gilmore Girls, Friends

Books:

The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, When I was Puerto Rican, Almost a Woman... The tales of a female nomad.....

Heroes:

Anyone who makes it to the end of their life and has no regrets. Anyone who lives out their dreams. Anyone who lives a life of faith.
