These days it's hard out here for a rapper. Being lyrical is not enough. You have to make up the complete package. You have to look the part, act the part, and be the part. The girls have to love you and the guys have to want to be you. You have to have swagger, energy, attitude and talent all combined into the perfect package to make today's rap star. And that's exactly what Top and brings to the hip-hop world.It's been one year since Kapadon Music Studio been doing its thing in Arkansas, The Rock Town what they call it. Putting together his smash debut Top of the line Konyak but Arkansas being a tough market has kept him relevant with hit guest appearances and shows galore. Now gearing up to step deeper into the music industry, the much anticipated and aptly titled Top of The Line Konyak, Top is more than prepared to show people what they've all been waiting for. Top was born Tony D. Robinson 34 years ago in Little Rock, Arkansas. He grew up hard, living in the projects with his single mother, sisters and brothers in Little Rock. At 14 Tony took to the streets of selling drugs to survive. At the same time he began a new hobby: rapping, which soon became a major focus in the young hustler's life. The Little Rock hip-hop scene was just beginning to crank up and Top wanted to be a part of it. After serving a ten year sentence which ended in 1995, Top caught the attention of local artist that was on the same page like Pretty Tony who went on and made major steps into the music industry landing a deal with J Records. Top the new-jack of Little Rock, Arkansas, spent the next six years opening shows trying to get heard. Being able to meet big stars like Juvenile, Master P, Scar Face and Devin the Dude inspired Top to keep pushing.In 2005, Top put together his own recording studio Kapadon Music Studio "I was blessed to be able to put together a studio ," the rapper says. "It really was a good thing to me to be able to save money ." That..s what brought Top to the point of being able to do tracks and record his own music. "I got my own label Kapadon Music Studio and I'm helping other artists in the game," Top explains. "I got the hottest DJ, Deja Blu in Little Rock with me." Even though Top hasn't released an album just yet he hasn't been bored. He's been busy plotting and planning shooting a dvd with Hoodstruck TV which show every weekend on channel 62 Comcast in Little Rock, Arkansas . "I'm looking forward to having success with the dvd Grittin Two Get It In Little Rock, and from there I got movie scripts and a book on the line." the MC says. "You got to grow as an artist. You got to reinvent yourself every time you come out. I don't believe in staying in the same space. I believe in getting better. At the end of the day, ain't too much change as far as life. I still wake up thanking god and kicking it with the players in the hood. "Like a true rap star.
