About Me

Kerry Martin is a multi-range trumpeter based out of Columbia, Maryland, who started his professional career playing in the Baltimore/Washington area almost 30 years ago. An alumnus of Towson State University’s famed jazz ensembles led by Hank Levy, Kerry has performed on stage and recorded with the diverse likes of nationally known artists such as Ethel Ennis, Freddie Hubbard, Clark Terry, Lin Biviano, Abdoulaye N'Ddiaye, The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and even Dan Ackroyd of Blues Brothers fame. Kerry was also tapped to play lead trumpet for various projects involving alumni of the big bands of Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, Count Basie, and Stan Kenton. Locally, Kerry has made numerous radio and television appearances and performed and/or recorded with many fine jazz, swing, blues, and rock groups including Totally Confused, Carey Ziegler’s Expensive Hobby, 23 Skadoo, Joyride, Fat Tuesday, Mary Lou & The Untouchables, Written Prisms, Nothin' But Trouble, The Higher Hands, The Players, and half a gazillion other groups ranging from wedding bands to big bands. Kerry is presently playing in the DC/Baltimore area with his jazz quartet, OHMG.
