About Me

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Howdy doody, my name is Clint Freund, middle name: Marvin. I live in Madison and am pursuing a recording internship. I recorded many bands in Oshkosh at the studios on the UWOshkosh campus. I love many genres of music: folk rock, gindcore, space rock, avant noise, polka, early 20th century russian composers (Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, etc.), sludge, traditional Hindustani voice/sitar and tabla, etc. I love the excitement at the beginning of the session and first run-throughs. I want to know more about schematics. I need to meet more groups and people in Madison. I also need to find a place to mix; my computer is insufficient and I have all this audio from Oshkosh recordings and have never fully (to my satifaction) mixed and mastered em.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Style of Recording and Tastes: I hold strongly to the idea of keeping realistic goals. A well-tuned and rehearsed band, a excellent mic setup, good preamps, and a good performance will make a good recording and a good time!! Not plugins, or delete buttons. I'm not a huge fan of pumping (overly compressed) cymbals. I like large rooms (that could fit a wind ensemble) and the resultant bleed with a few piece rock band playing in it. I like dynamics. I'm not a fan of 80s-ish overcompessed synth sound drumsets. I don't like under rehearsed groups. I try my hardest to discover the secrets of the ear, making my craft as useful as possible to make a good recording right off the bat. I believe in spending time to get the right *sound* first, then moving on. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I enjoy: Critical masses, live shows at Nottingham Co-op, commuting to work on my bicycle, getting by on less and less things, being around good folks, Transformer Lootbag, playing tuba(if i had a tuba:(!!), being vegetarian, reading anti-civ books, learning about the world around me, music with wild imaginative soundscapes, trees (not the zoo-like manicured ones along streets!), the idea of getting rid of two-party politics, tea, tube amps, beautiful reverb, giraffe paper-mache heads, ....
