I'm Kim...I'm just your average nerd....I love to study, I love reading and writing, sorry, but I take pride in my literacy...lol...I have had a huge dramatic issue with school lately, despite my nerd-like qualities, so I am currently at a jr college, in about a year or so I will be ready to transfer back to the University and persue a career in forensic science, with a minor in astronomy and math perhaps?..I plan to double major in Anthropology (with an emphasis on Forensic Anthropology) and Chemistry, and take my time this time. I am trying to get as many courses out of the way now, mainly because my GE has pretty much been fulfilled, so as to not have as much to worry about when the transfer is complete...
I love music as much as I love science. Music is my lifeline. I love writting music, playing music, performing music, listening to music, observing music, dancing to music, and reading music. A good song has the capacity to enhance your emotions. Without music I am not me. I play the guitar, classical and rock. I write my own songs, and i am in a band...more like a duo...lol...we are called Midnight Sanctuary...look us up on myspace music...we are just getting started and its just, me, my friend angela, and my guitar...but its awesome...I love all music, and if the lyrics of a song grab me, it doesn't matter if it's classical, gothic, musical/showtunes, country, metal, even rap or bluegrass *gag*, if the lyrics are important, it wins.
My best friend in the whole wide world lives quite literally on the other side of it, go figure, but she has saved my life numerous times, even if she is across an ocean and in another hemisphere. She is more than my best friend, she is my sister, without whom I would not even have the courage or the desire to change how I live my life. I owe her so much and I look forward to a life-long friendship/sisterhood. ILYSFMIH ELLE!!!
Speaking of friends who are also sisters, the newest sister in the sisterhood (if that makes any sense) is my friend Brie, who has been there for me just like Elle has, and tho we may not talk as often, I feel like she is a sister to me, and I try to be one to her. These two young women are the best people I know, just so gentle and kind, yet just like me in different ways. In depending upon eachother we form bonds that no blade can slice-thicker than skin and it doesn't run like blood. The three of us need a road trip! lol...ILY BRIE!!!
Then we have Angela!!!!...ive known her since elemetary, and i just cant shake her..lol..no, i would never want to...shes so awesome..shes been my friend through all the bad shit, she tells me like it is, and she is a real inspiration...yah we have lost contact, so we have been in and out of eachothers lives through these last 13 years (gawd its actually been that long..wow) but when one of us always looks for the other and we end up literally picking up as if we had never been apart....thats a friendship that will last a life time....i mean...there have been many friends that i have lost contact with, tried to reconnect with, and its never happened...with angela i dont have to try, she knows me at my best and worst, and shes even my co-vocalist in my band....she is such an amazing young woman...i cant wait to see what the future holds for us....and for all of us...
I love Gothic architecture and all that. I'm just your average girl with a punk rock gothic soul....I try to live a life where I accept that shit happens that I cannot change. Accepting the darkness within the light, and knowing the difference. Seeing the world as dark and sinister, yet rejecting the evil. I feel that doing this is actually somewhat spiritual when you think about it....
The original germanic goths were ruthless and warriors....and the term "goth" and "gothic" originally meant that which was unrefined and dark and dramatic....but what came from them were some of the most beautiful cathedrals, buildings, and then the gothic art movement, which is fascinating. The middle ages and the renaissance are simply fascinating because thats when the cathedrals began popping up, and the middle ages were "very gothic" in the sence of their churches and cathedrals...empty cathedrals that had HUGE archways that led and directed your eyes upward towards the heavens, bringing you a closer connection with god....but then again, the Goths were the first to add "furniture" (aka-seating, lol) to the churches/cathedrals...and all the jewelry and ancient emblems from the middle ages....and with the renaissance brought the gothic art movement....long limbs and tall thin bodies portrayed in dark colors....very unrefined...LOVE IT....then you get past the renaissance to the victorian era and you have the corsets and the flamboyant attire...add it all together and you get the current subculture that has arisin throughout the world, known as "goth"...people who appear unrefined, but like the cathedrals, we see, that what may appear harsh and unrefined, are sometimes the most intricate and beautiful structures of all....thats your history lesson for the day...lol
Okay, I want to brag about myself now...lol..mainly because I am sick of getting people who talk to me like I am some sort of moronic and/or ditzy young girl...
I graduated high school third in my class with a GPA of 4.3...and Frack you if you say its not possible, because it is, and i have people who will back me up on that...I am in the NSHSS (National Society of High School Scholars), I was inducted (along with many others because it isn't too hard to get into, I don't think..) into the national honor roll two years in a row. When I first entered the University I was involved with the honors program. All my high school courses were AP level, which apparently means squat. My IQ is 147, though I do admitt, it does not always show...I have subscribed to the "word of the day club", and as soon as my final exam is finished I am going to read the encyclopedias and the dictionary, for fun...I love reading information, I bought a book recently called the Art of the Infinite, and it is all about mathematics....
I suppose this is where my punk rock status enters into play...I am very opinionated, and very passionate about my opinions. So my suggestion is to not argue with me, because chances are you will not win, and even if by some off chance you DO win, I can assure you that I will be bitter and belittle you so badly that we shall never speak again...just a word of caution.
People who I have known since high school are safe from most of my lashings of anger...lol
Use caution when asking to be my friend. If you plan on trying to change me, don't. I'm not broken and I don't need you to fix me. What I do to handle my own life is my business, not yours. I will not change for you. If you think my religious views are stupid and want to "show me the light", go take a long walk off a short pier.
You do not know me until you walk and live in my little world, with all of my scars, and all of my thoughts. My life is my own, to do with as I see fit. So until you live my life don't think you know me, because you have no idea.
I will not conform to your standards of mediocrity.
I will not be who you want me to be.
I will not carry a conversation with an idiot.
I do not think that I am better than you, so do not for one minute think that you are any better than me. We are equal, and fuck you if you disagree.
Do not berate me for my political beliefs. I think that marriage is marriage, no matter who you are. And if we are to ban gay marriage then why not ban marriage between people with an IQ below 100?...If you do one you might as well do the other, that's how I see it.
If you want an abortion, that is YOUR choice. The government has NO right to determine when you have a child. Granted I would never have one, but that is not my choice to make for EVERYONE ELSE. If you do it you must live with the consequences, nobody else, so it is entirely up to you.
Do not let someone tell you what to do just because they are your superior. Show respect yes, when it is earned. But just because someone "outranks" you does not make them right by default. I think this has been seen with the rule of George W Bush, and yes I said rule.
And if you disagree with me, fine. You do not have to like me, you do not even have to talk to me. But you WILL respect me, because as long as you respect me, I will respect you.
