The band was formed in early 2001 by these two gentlemen and have been active since in bringing you the blues the way it was meant to be played:
Richard Molina got his start on Maxwell Street in Chicago in 1970 playing with a good portion of its local characters, including but not limited to Big John Wrencher, John Henry Davis, Little Pat Rushing, and Maxwell Street Jimmy Davis. It was there he met Big Walter Horton and struck up a relationship that would last until Big Walter Horton's untimely demise in 1981. It was said by Bruce Iglauer of Alligator Records that Richard was Big Walter's best friend. In addition to playing bass and guitar and touring with Big Walter, he booked gigs for and gigged with the best in Chicago Blues, among those being Homesick James, Jimmy Rogers, Andrew "Big Voice" Odom, Snooky Pryor, George "Harmonica" Smith (for two special dates in Chicago in the '70's while Mr. Smith was living in Watts, CA), Willie Williams, L.C. Roby and a list of others too long to mention. Richard and his family moved to Tacoma, Washington not long after Walter passed, and since then he has been somewhat of a dark horse in the Western Washington blues scene, playing gigs with the best of the Northwest.
Anthony Estrada was born in 1979, around the same time Richard was still active in the Chicago Blues scene, even though he was living in Champaign at the time. Anthony picked up the harmonica as a child, but didn't start actually playing it until he was 15, around about the same time receiving his first guitar as a Christmas present from his parents while living in Ft. Hood, TX. Ever since then, his music has become an unstoppable force in his life, along the way playing in bands and projects of all forms, shapes, genres and sizes, and picking up know-how on other stringed instruments and drums. As soon as Anthony moved back to Washington in 1997, he immersed himself in the local music scene, making avant-garde experimental music with close friends on the side. Turning 21 was a turning point in his life, as he was ready and able to hit the bar scene and its then plentiful jams. It was at Jazzbones, a local Tacoma club, that he met and partnered up with Richard and the two have not stopped cooking up the good Chi-town flavored blues since. Anthony is also active as head of Idea Soldier Sounds International, a shoestring label that serves up music of all types.
