LG PRINCE P aka LG (Born Lawrence Greenberg) is a rapper/producer with a dream; what is that dream you say? To bring truth and emotion to the art he expresses. In his own words, "Alot of people hear that I'm a rapper and think at first it's just some wanna be thug shit, or an angel into gettin' shorty's. In truth when I can't sleep I write, when i'm stressed I write, when i'm ecstatic because I got some feeling from a girl I'm talking to I write, writing is my passion and when I discovered hip-hop it was love at first sight."
How did a "white-boy" from the suburbs "discover" hip-hop as an outlet in the suburbs?
As he puts it, "I was a trouble maker, family was going through a lot, I was goin' through a lot, and maybe I could have been like my brother and studied, but instead I smoked weed, drank brews, and got engaged in a lifestyle that was material and foolish. Hanging out with cool kids, eventually becoming a drug dealer-I mean it's my life and thats why I write about it-or why I rhyme about it ya' know."
A deliquent adolescent, LG originally took that energy and was involved in petty crimes and violence; Drugs, partying, and just "actin' a fool" was his outlet. From a drug user to a drug dealer, LG was seemingly caught in a never ending cycle of drama. Maybe due to his internal and external difficulties he is such an amazing writer, and performer.
He has since been featured on various artists mix-tapes around the U.S., built a studio, started a management company, and released one album, "Delayed Gratification." Certain songs such as "Dear Elieana" or "Make A Change" truly reflect who he is as an artist, and what his goal is by being a rapper."
Truly refreshing to see an artist "spit" truth, and deal with real issues. To leave off these sentiments as he puts it, " If I was a good kid going through girls problems I'd talk about that, if I was working the drive through i'd talk about motherfuckers fuckin' up my change in the register, but i'm not and all I can be is me so that's how I'm going to do it until the day that i'm dead and gone."
L.G. is currently in production of his second album, and is interested in collaberating with goal oriented artists, as well as performing shows/showcases.
